What can we say about I Was A Ye-Ye Girl by Doing Time, other than yeah, baby! Apparently, Ye-Ye girls were a phenomenon in the 1960s in France where they were the high fashion pop babes of the time. The original cover provides no glimpse of what such a girl might have looked like so it is good that the remix fills in the gap, though it's quite a small gap. If that is what Ye-Ye girls were like, build a time machine right away, and let's get back to France. Ooh la-la!

Still back in the 1960s, as we discover what Georgy Girl looks like. The Seekers provide no real indication of what a Georgy Girl is or does and though the 1960s are a long way back in the past, we at AllBum.Art are proud to have found a picture of a Georgy Girl in the internet archives. It seems she was a very curvy babe who liked to hang around peering out of curtains and standing next to standard lamps. And doing this wearing no clothes that are immediately visible. Bright!

Always nice to receive a well thought through remix from someone who is clearly a bit mad. Dave Wilson of London, England has sent us this remix of the single Jackie by Scott Walker. Dave takes up the story:

Jackie was the name of a pirate radio station in the 1980s in London and used this song as their theme. As a boy listening to the radio I often dreamed about what Jackie must look like and was disappointed when I saw the cover of the song and found that Jackie was not there. I always imagined here as being a swash-buckling sea-wench and when I saw your site it inspired me to rekindle my childhood fantasies and do a remix.

Nothing mad there, you might think. But then again, you might not think, and that would be mad. A-harrr!

Lessons In Love are what Level 42 sing about. But what does the cover of their single teach us? Why nothing more than the fact that the band were more concerned about posing in black and white than in helping us to understand what lessons in love might be like. That needs to be remedied immediately. And what better way to teach love than to have a naked babe stand at the front of the classroom. Really, that's by far the best way. No, it is. Trust us. Learned!

We Are The Champions, or so say British rock legends Queen. But does the cover of their single scream out this fact with gay abandon? No. It doesn't. In fact, it doesn't do anything other than name the band and the title of the song. So much better then that the remix abandons this passifistic normitude and shows four girls who are clearly champions, in anyone's book. The only question is... what exactly did they win their medals for? Your guess and my guess are probably very similar. Top!

What would you expect to see on the cover of a single called Waterfalls? Would it be three dudettes dressed in baggy clothes presented in a cartoon stylee? Well the three dudettes on the original cover are meant to be the members of the band TLC whose song it is. But where's the wet? The water? The falling? The remixed artwork answers these questions as we see three babettes standing underneath what looks for all the world like a waterfall. And it looks like a chilly one too. Splosh!

Another in our ongoing 'rain' series... In the song Laughter In The Rain, Neil Sedaka tells us that he is walking hand-in-hand with the one he loves. On the cover, though, he is just sitting around in a very fetching 1970s shirt that has clearly been nowhere near any rain, nor is there any sign of him having fun or holding hands. In the remix, these errors are corrected and though Mr Sedaka is no longer visible, there are two babes hand-in-hand walking through the rain and they seem to be having a good time, or at least they have had a good time as evident from the wine they are drinking and the fact that all their clothes have fallen off. Drenched!

Continuing in the 'rain' series, here's a remix of I Wish It Would Rain Down by Phil Collins. On the original single cover we see Mr Collins looking like he was hoping to go on a picnic but that the rain stopped him and he's irked. Now the shame of it is that on the remix we can see what awaited him at the picnic had he bothered to get a plastic mac and head out into the storm. Anyone got a picnic basket they don't mind getting wet? Yogi!

Here we are again with another dreary song by Travis. And accompanying their melancholy, downbeat performance is the cover of a single that could have been made by a 10 year old with no idea of art. Thankfully the remix shows something more akin to the ethos of the song. A sexy babe in a see through dress. Does her love come through? It certainly looks like it does. Opaque!

Yes, summer is well and truly over. The sun has gone and the dreary rainy days are settling in. And what better way to not enjoy a dreary rainy day than to listen to a dreary song about rainy days. To the rescue is Scottish band Travis and their dreary song Why Does It Always Rain On Me. Perhaps it's because the covers of your singles are so dreary? The remix - well that's dreary too but at least you get to see a drawing of a babe in stockings. Torrential!
